"My job is to manufacture GRP components from multiple mould tools by using wet lay-up and infusion techniques. This process consists of mould maintenance, preparation and applying gel coat to give the "A" surface a perfect finish. The component is built up with multiple layers of fibreglass, foam structure, and resin to create the finished part. Once the cure cycle is complete the component is de-moulded and moved to the production line."

"I take the moulded component from the production line and repair it to to the highest standard and required specification. These usually consist of structural repairs, two-part mould splits, and general maintenance to ensure the components are to the required standard."

"Within my role I have to be able to measure, cut and trim GRP accurately. I also have some carpentry skills to fit teak decking, hinges to GRP and gas rams. I am able to use a wide range of tools such as a drill, jigsaw cutter, grinder, and diamond wheel. Another important aspect of my role is to fit glazing and to be capable of caulking."

"I am able to read and understand engineering drawings, measure accurately using plumb lines and laser levels, and use a wide range of power tools. As well as drill and tap large diameter bolts into mild steel and be able to line shafts to gearbox couplings to a tolerance of .005.

I have to be multi-disciplined in my job, as there is some basic plumbing, first fit electrical work, and mechanical engineering I need to carry out on a day-to-day basis."

"I made the move from the automotive industry to marine six months ago. My previous experience has been vital in ensuring that materials are prepared and mixed to the correct colour and consistency. Thoroughly prepping surfaces and carefully applying the products, including high gloss polyester & paint lacquer, provides the high quality, unblemished finish our customers expect and love."

"I have a keen interest and background in carpentry with experience of basic hand tools and experience with workshop machinery. I work to a high level of accuracy and have a "get it right first time" attitude. You have to be good at working in a team and to understand the need to work to a deadline. The materials I mainly work with are softwood, lacquered plywood panels, avonite worktops, and soft lined panels."

"I have a keen eye for detail and a steady hand, which is crucial to deliver the level of quality and finish expected. My previous experience in shop fitout has really given me an in-depth understanding of all the finishing items that go into a premium luxury product like Fairline."

"I have an electrical background and am responsible for the cabin wiring, all the audio packages and the second fix of plumbing, including the fitting of shower valves, sinks, and taps. I fit all the appliances from hobs and dishwashers to ovens and also fit all lights and sockets. It is imperative that I can test all systems on and off the water to make sure the boat is ultimately safe and practical for our end customer."
